My current work is inspired by historical ceramic, glass and metal artifacts and constructed from found plastic bottles. I collect discarded juice, soda and water bottles, cut them into pieces and use the parts to create new sculptures. The original material is transformed from plastic trash into pieces that address issues of history, culture and the relative value of objects.
I was fortunate to have had the opportunity to work at UrbanGlass and The Studio at the Corning Museum of Glass during the past year. I made molds of my plastic pieces and, working with a team of talented glass blowers, had them mold-blown or cast in glass.
